Tugboat

Caracasbaai, CURAÇAO
12°04'07.2"N, 68°51'43.4"W

Tugboat, and its adjacent reef and wall, is one of the most popular sites in the whole of Curaçao. This picturesque wreck, sometimes called Tugboat Curaçao, is around 30 feet (9 meters) in length and only 6 feet (3 meters) beneath the surface in some places, making it ideal
for exploration by both divers and snorkelers. Tugboat was sunk accidently in the 1990s when a large ship anchor crashed onto its deck. The wreck has since been overgrown with numerous corals and sponges and plays host to a wide variety of reef creatures. The broader site contains many other features, such as three large mooring towers, a ship’s anchor, several artificial reefs constructed of various metal debris and car tires, as well as coral frames from an active coral restoration project.
