Lighthouse Point

Kralendijk, BONAIRE

Lighthouse Point gets its name from the Punt Vierkant Lighthouse, located here. The original wooden structure built in 1931 and then replaced with a concrete lighthouse a decade later. Lighthouse Point is the house reef of Delfins Beach Resort and the excellent onsite dive operator Dive Friends Bonaire. A jetty that runs out from the shore provides the perfect entry to the site. The current can be strong here at times, which keep the reef healthy and vibrant, and attracts a wide diversity of marine life, including hawksbill sea turtles, eagle rays and green moray eels. The soft corals in the backreef host plenty of trumpetfish, slender filefish and schooling goatfish and grunts.
