Blue Heron Bridge is also called the Phil Foster Snorkel Trail. Sport Diver magazine voted it one of the 50 best dive sites in the world and SCUBA Diving Magazine called it Florida’s “best shore dive.” The reason for its popularity is largely down to its easy accessibility and the incredible biodiversity found in the shadows of a heavily developed stretch of the Florida Intracoastal Waterway. Divers and snorkelers have the opportunity to encounter eagle rays, seahorses, octopuses, flying gurnards, frogfish and pipefish, among many others. The site offers a range of habitats, including bridge pilings, rubble, and some small aritifical reefs in the form of boats, shopping cards and some reef modules.
