Kittiwake

An iconic Cayman dive site, the Kittiwake is a fantastic wreck dive accessible to both divers and snorkelers alike thanks to shallow and crystal-clear waters. After years of preparation and planning. The deck levels tend to offer the safest penetration routes while the subdeck should only be attempted by those with experience and training. The ship’s decompression chamber can still be accessed toward the stern of the superstructure, but this confined space is not for the faint-hearted. Originally sitting upright, Kittiwake rolled over onto its port side during Tropical Storm Nate in 2017. It now rests just feet away from the adjacent reefs, which also host several long swim-throughs. The shift onto its side has done nothing to diminish the appeal of this wreck dive, however, which remains one the most enjoyable dives in the Cayman Islands. It provides visitors with the opportunity to see a range of reef creatures, from turtles and rays to barracuda and jacks.
