Fisherman's Wharf, also called Fisherman’s Hut, Small Harbor and Water Factory is a real hidden gem. A plateau, located seaward of the breakwater, has a wide mix of hard corals, soft corals and sponges, which provides complex habitat for large schools of reef fish, particularly chromis. These species attract larger predatory fish such as barracuda, snapper and tarpon. Just below the plateau, about mid way along the reef, divers will find a sloping sandy ledge, bordered by large patches of yellow pencil coral. A particularly large barrel sponge is located at the edge of this ledge. Divers can often find large parrotfish, porcupinefish, angelfish, butterflyfish and spotted drums in this area. To the east, separated by a sand chute, the reef transitions to a small wall that drops vertically from about 25 feet (7.5 meters) at the top to around 50 feet (15 meters) at the base. Fairy basslets cover this wall and divers may also encounter moray eels, lobsters and hamlets.
